Beautiful Botticino Marble Sundial inlaid in the center in polychrome marbles with a beautiful wind rose, while at the bottom on either side two medallions depicting a sun and a moon in red Verona marble complete the work. Provenance Venice, private collection. The hole is in the top center; the gnomon can be removed and will be supplied with the sundial. This sundial was displayed from the summer solstice (June 21) to the south. High quality, relevant marble workmanship. More unique than rare lot, of sporadic availability of such quality. Sundial peculiar in shape. Wonderful veining of the marble. It can be hung on the wall, even inside the home. Beautiful frame around the sundial, sublimely crafted lot. Absolutely must highlight the marble tone which is beautifully expressed. It will be shipped with wooden crate. Of course it will be supplied and shipped with its gnomon (present in photo).
