This is a lovely example of the timeless Welsh dressers, made throughout the 17/18th centurys and was the centre piece in every rural Welsh and North country dwelling. This piece was likely to have been made around 1780 in very heavy English oak, originaly it had a plate rack on the back, which is as is with most of these no longer existing. Lovely original wax patina and brass fittings, two doors close off a single space for storage of pans and crockery with three drawers along the top. These make very handsome sideboards/sidetables in entrance halls or in large living rooms, or backing up to a large central sofa.
